Start a private rehoming request
Tell us about your Yorkie and your situation. Your Yorkie stays at home with you while the SA Yorkie Rescue (SAYR) adoptions team looks for the right family. There is no charge to the owner for rehoming.
Your privacy. Only the adoptions team sees your request. Your contact details are not passed to anyone until an adopter has been approved and has completed the paperwork. Public profiles show town and province only, never your name or address.
After you send this, the team will ask for 3 to 6 recent photos on WhatsApp. The team usually replies within an hour during business hours.
Send your request to the adoptions team
Complete the SA Yorkie Rescue rehoming form, or message the team on WhatsApp. Both go to the same adoptions team.
What happens next
- The adoptions team reads your request and contacts you, usually within an hour during business hours.
- The team prepares an anonymous profile for your Yorkie, showing only the town and province.
- Interested families are checked, normally with a home video, against what your Yorkie needs.
- Once a family is approved and the contract is signed, your Yorkie usually goes straight from your home to theirs.
